“It was pretty immediate for me,” says Sullivan. “I mean, it was difficult because you get so tight with everyone along the way. I put down people that I would have loved to sous chef, like Lana, Paula, Mimi [Weissenborn]. Lana was definitely at the top of my list. We just spent the most time together and had the most time to bond. And I think that nothing is more important than cooking with love, and you have to surround yourself with as much positivity as possible to do that. And Lana just brings me a ton of joy. We're very close friends. I mean, we all are here. But I really wanted to just be in a positive mood the whole time, and she makes it really easy to do that. So I'm very blessed to have had her as a sous chef.”

As for ultimately choosing Mohajir, he explains, “I picked Zubair mostly [because], one, we vibed a lot in the beginning of the season. We vibed on sports a lot, and when you can't watch them, we just talked about them. And we always found a lot of commonality between his cuisine and my cuisine. There's a big like Hindi and Punjab population in Trinidad, and so a lot of our food is either the same or named slightly different."
