Northern Colorado heralded hurdler Jerome Campbell finished his season and UNC career Wednesday in the semifinals of the 110-meter hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Campbell, a junior from Jamaica, finished 11th of 24 hurdlers in three heats at the University of Oregon, and failed to advance to Friday’s championship final. Campbell’s time was 13.50 seconds.
The top two finishers in each of the three heats advanced to Friday, along with the next three fastest times.

Campbell finished seventh in the 110 hurdles last year, starting an outstanding stretch of competitions for the 22-year-old and multiple school record holder for the Bears.
He previously announced on social media his intention to transfer from UNC for his remaining college eligibility.
After last year’s NCAAs, Campbell competed for a spot on the Jamaican team that competed in the Paris Olympics. He did not make the Jamaican team, but Campbell earned another chance in March to run for his home nation.
He qualified for the 60-meter hurdles at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in China and finished seventh as the one of the youngest athletes in the eight-man finals field. The World Athletics Indoor Championships were previously known as the IAAF Championships. The event is a major and major and prestigious international competition held every two years.
Earlier in the month, Campbell finished second in the 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia. With the second place finish, Campbell earned All-American honors for the second time in indoor track and field.
