Golf’s Grand Slam remains the pinnacle of the game and one of the hardest feats to achieve in world sport.
Every golfer dreams of winning a major, but only a select few have won all four – The Masters, PGA Championship, US Open and The Open Championship.
Woods won his fifth green jacket in 2019GettyA host of legendary names have tried and come close but the group of players to do it remained unchanged for over two decades.
That was until the 2025 Masters when Rory McIlroy ended his 11-year wait to claim the Green Jacket and complete his set of majors.
McIlroy won the US Open in 2011 to announce himself on the world stage and then quickly won The Open and two PGA Championship titles.
But his wait for Masters glory went on for years with a host of near-misses.
His lifelong dream was then realised when he beat Justin Rose in the play-off at Augusta to join golf’s elite in immortality.
Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, who have won over 30 major titles between them, head up the illustrious list.
They are joined by Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Gene Sarazen and now McIlroy as the only men to claim all four championships.
