Al Hilal’s search for a marquee striker has hit a major snag after Victor Osimhen rejected the club’s third and final offer, talkSPORT understands.
The Nigerian marksman was offered an eye-watering £34million yearly salary, which equates to £650,000-per-week, plus bonuses.
Al Hilal have failed in their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor OsimhenGettyThe Saudi Pro League side had also booked Osimhen’s travel and prepared his medical, with the Napoli striker given a final deadline of June 8 to decide to join given Al Hilal’s participation in the Club World Cup.
But the Saudi outfit have now been left in the lurch after Osimhen provided his final answer.
News of Osimhen’s rejection is understood to come as a major surprise to a number of Premier League clubs, as many felt he was destined for a Saudi switch.
Instead, it has now opened the door for Juventus and Galatasaray, where Osimhen spent the 2024/25 season, to become active suitors for his signature once more.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain may also return to the negotiating table having agreed personal terms with Osimhen last summer, but could not strike a fee with Napoli.
Chelsea and Manchester United would be interested in a deal for Osimhen, but only on the condition he fitted into their wage structure, which could prove to be a problem for the Red Devils given their lack of Champions League football next season.
With Osimhen no longer an option, it remains to be seen whether Al Hilal reignite their interest in Darwin Nunez and Richarlison.
The pair have been discussed by Al Hilal’s deal makers in the past.
Al Hilal are also now understood to be debating whether to make a last-ditch bid for a marquee player ahead of the Club World Cup, which commences on June 15.
Aside from Nunez and Richarlison, two Premier League stars who could figure in those talks are Bernardo Silva and Youri Tielemans.
The 26-year-old turned down astronomical wages on offer from the Saudi clubAnadolu via GettySilva has just one year remaining on his contract with Manchester City, so the English heavyweights may look to cash in on the Portuguese international before he walks for free.
The midfielder is one of the most experienced players in Pep Guardiola‘s squad with over 400 appearances for City to his name.
Silva has proved to be remarkably versatile too, operating as an attacking and central midfielder as well as on the right flank.
However, the 30-year-old has been linked with moves away from the Etihad over the years and was targeted by the likes of PSG and Barcelona.
Silva also revealed in 2023 he has aspirations to return to Portuguese side Benfica, where he came through the academy.
As for Tielemans, he enjoyed one of his best-ever seasons as he scored five times and provided ten assists from 53 appearances for Aston Villa in the 2024/25 campaign.

Al Hilal’s Club World Cup campaign commences on June 18 with a bumper fixture against Real Madrid.
