Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be set for a return to English football this summer with a move to the Championship on the cards.
According to reports in Turkey, where he currently plays for Besiktas, Leicester City have made an approach for the former England international following their relegation from the Premier League.

It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster experience for the ex-Arsenal and Liverpool man in his first venture abroad.
His first season was a success. The Englishman made 30 first-team appearances and, while they finished a disappointing sixth in the league table, he helped Besiktas win the Turkish Cup.
That trophy victory earned them a spot in the Europa League for the following campaign, but Oxlade-Chamberlain never tasted the fruit of that sweet success.
He was frozen out of the team by then manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who was appointed in July 2024, but he only lasted until November.
The midfielder then finally played his first minutes of the 2024/25 campaign in December, with his fortunes changing for the better when a certain baby-faced coach familiar to English football fans arrived in the dugout.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has played under nine managers in the 24 months in Turkey since he signed from Liverpool, with none lasting more than 20 games before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer marked his return to the dugout more than three years after his exit from Manchester United.
He was reinstated to the team and ultimately made 20 appearances – although still wasn’t eligible to play in the Europa League due to not being named in their squad, with Besiktas failing to make it out of the revamped league phase – before being sidelined by a knee injury for the final three games of the season.
Despite his return to action under Solskjaer, though, reports in Turkey claim Besiktas chiefs are keen for him to find a new club this summer to get his £2.2million annual salary off their wage bill.
Turkish daily sports newspaper Fotomac suggest he already has one option on the table, with Leicester said to have made an approach.

There is plenty of uncertainty at the King Power Stadium this summer following their relegation from the Premier League, with question marks still hanging over the future of manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
It was believed and widely reported the Dutchman would move on and a new coach take his place for their next campaign in the second tier, but neither the club nor coach have given an inkling over whether he will stay or go.
Meanwhile, a host of players are set to leave, with centre-back Wout Faes announcing staying with the Foxes is ‘out of the question’ this summer.
Club legend Jamie Vardy’s exit has already been confirmed, along with goalkeeper duo Danny Ward and Daniel Iversen – with the latter already joining a Championship rival.
For Oxlade-Chamberlain, a move to Leicester would see him return to the English leagues 15 years after making his senior debut for Southampton as a 16-year-old.

A return to England will be welcomed on a personal level, too, with the footballer engaged to Little Mix pop star Perrie Edwards who, together with their son, has remained based in Cheshire during his time in Europe.
