There’s no denying the connection Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and tight end Trey McBride have built across the past three seasons.
As for where they rank among the top pass-catching duos in the league, Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema has the pairing at No. 17.
Murray and McBride are two of the more talented players at their positions in the league. Over the past two seasons, Murray’s 90.0 PFF passing grade when targeting McBride ranks 15th among these pairings, although they have just a 6.3-yard average target depth.
McBride and Murray are a talented duo, but their production doesn’t jump off the page.
It was a season to remember for McBride, who set career marks in catches (111), receiving yards (1,146), first downs (63) and starts (16). He set a new franchise record for receptions, surpassing his previous mark of 81 in 2023.
The only thing lacking from the tight end’s 2025? Receiving touchdowns. Despite McBride’s breakout season, he finished with just two receiving scores. He did, however, find pay dirt on a run and fumble recovery.

Now, it’s about staying consistent for McBride.
“The great ones do it all the time and for me, it’s no secret anymore on what they’re going to do,” McBride said on Tuesday. “They’re going to get me the ball and I just got to continue to make plays when the ball comes to me and continue to grow as a player, a leader on this team and really elevate my teammates around me. … I just have to continue to be me.”
