Police negotiate with man who may have a gun in Broomfield ...Middle East

DENVER (KDVR) — A nonprofit organization in Broomfield is on "secure mode" while police negotiate with a man in the parking lot who may have a gun.

The Broomfield Police Department posted about the threat on X just after 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Police said there was a threat outside of A Precious Child in the 7000 block of W. 118th Ave, and they're working to negotiate with a man who may have a gun.

The organization is in "secure mode," where external access is restricted. Other buildings in the area have been asked to "secure" their doors. A shelter-in-place hasn't been issued for the area because police said the threat is contained.

Police said there's no danger inside the building, and everyone in the building is safe and secure.

There's a reunification point for parents at 119th Avenue and Teller Street.

FOX31 is heading to the scene to gather more information.
