HARMONY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- An Iredell County man reportedly called 911 to report that he had shot his wife Friday morning.
On Friday, May 16, around 8 a.m., a man, identified as Bobby Lee Collins, told 911 dispatchers he had shot his wife around 7 a.m. at his Harmony home.
He said he locked the door to the house when he left and had the keys in his pocket.
The caller told police he was currently sitting in his vehicle at the intersection of Powell Bridge Road and Harmony Highway. Deputies found 70-year-old Bobby Lee Collins sitting in his truck at the intersection and took him into custody.
Additional deputies responded to the home and located a woman, identified as Iona Collins, dead inside the residence.
Bobby Lee Collins is charged with murder and is being held without bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
