Mr. Jerry Albert Nixon, age 86 of the Defeated Creek Community, died Monday morning, May 12 at his home. He is survived by: daughter, Rhonda Chandler and husband Kevin of Pleasant View; son, David Nixon and wife Jennifer of Defeated Creek; step-daughter, Tonya Craighead and husband Jeff of Kempville, Tammie Stuckley of Allendonia, Ohio; sister, Sally Marie Woodard of Defeated Creek; brother, Tommy Nixon of Shelbyville;7 grandchildren, Kevin Craighead and fiance’ Kayla Stinson of Cookeville, Rianna Leishman and husband Jake of Beallsville, Ohio, Tanner Decker of Allendonia, Ohio, Lashae Johnson and husband James, Chris Nixon and wife Megan, Kristen Boyett all of Defeated Creek, Tia McKinney of Cookeville; 10 great-grandchildren
Mr. Nixon is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where his service will be conducted on Thursday morning, May 15 at 11:00 AM. Rickey West will officiate. Interment in the Nixon Family Cemetery in Defeated Creek. Serving as pallbearers are: Chris Nixon, James Johnson, Waylan Timbs, Kevin Craighead, Jeff Craighead, Nathan Johnson.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.
The family has requested memorials to the Joey Kemp Scholarship Fund.
