Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has directed a Pakistani woman, residing in Bhubaneswar since 2008, to leave the city after her long-term visa expired in February 2024.
Married to a local Muslim man who works as an air conditioner fitter, she had applied for a visa extension, which is still under process. The order follows stricter enforcement of visa regulations for Pakistani nationals, intensified after the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack.
The Odisha government has started the process for the deportation of Pakistani nationals staying in the state on Long Term Visa (LTVs).
As per reports, as many as 12 Pakistani-origin people are staying in Odisha on Long Term Visa.
