(KRON) -- A South Bay Whole Foods location that previously had several departments closed due to a vermin infestation has been closed by order of county health inspectors, KRON4.com has learned. The Cupertino Whole Foods location on Stevens Creek Boulevard temporarily suspended its deli and bakery departments earlier this month following inspections from the County of Santa Clara Department of Environmental Health.

Now the store has had its operating permit suspended by the county and has been forced to temporarily close.

According to a statement on the county website, "A permit suspension occurs when an imminent threat to health and safety is observed and the violation(s) cannot be corrected. The facility must be closed until the violation is corrected and the permit is reinstated."

The county's website indicates the store's permit was suspended on Tuesday.

KRON4 has reached out to Whole Foods for a statement on the closure. We have not yet heard back.
