The red, white and blue was well represented in the pool at the International School Sport Federation Under-15 World School Sports Games (also known as ISF U15 Gymnasiade) in Serbia, thanks mainly to 14-year-old Juli Cavalcanti.

The Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida native who swims for Planet Swim Aquatics won a gold medal, a silver medal and advanced to the finals in six events during the swimming competition.

She also was on four relay teams.

Cavalcanti captured the gold medal in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:56.53, and won silver in the 200 IM in a time of 2:18.15.

In addition, she set personal bets in the 200 butterfly (2:18.12, 4th-place finish), 100 backstroke (1:03.88, 7th-place finish), the 50 back (30.88) while swimming the leadoff leg for the 200 medley relay team that finished seventh, and in the 50 free (27.48) while swimming the anchor leg of the 200 free relay.

Cavalcanti added sixth-place finishes in the 200 back (2:18.95) and 400 free (4:30.64).

The ISF Gymnasiade is a multi-sport competition for athletes around the world aged 12-15. The event in Zlatibor, Serbia was the second installment after the inaugural event was held in Belgrade back in 2021.

Other individual standouts were:

Jasmine Annabelle Hall of England won the 200 free (2:03.83), 400 free (4:17.57) and 800 free (8:52.44). Katharine Jemima Schillinger of England won the 50 free (26.16), 50 back (28.35) and 100 back (1:01.16). Laila Chain of Argentina triumphed in the 200 back (2:11.33) and 200 IM (2:16.96). In the boys competition, Henry Andrew Shepherd of England won the 200 breast (2:20.85) and 400 IM (4:38.04). Jhao-Ci Wu of Chinese Taipei also won multiple events in the boys’ event, taking the 100 free in 24.47 and the 50 fly in 25.00.
