Ben Miller and Sally Phillips star as a high-profile literary couple Julian and Ingrid on the brink of being cancelled after a social media faux-pas in Australia.

British comedian, actor and author Miller, 59, rose to fame as one half of the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller. He then moved into acting and has starred in The Worst Week of my Life, Popetown, Death in Paradise, Horrible Histories and Bridgerton on television. And he played Angus Bough in the Johnny English movies and the Colonel in the Paddington films.

Sally Phillips plays Ingrid Hartswood, illustrator and wife to Julian.

She has gone on to star in shows such as Rescue Me, Green Wing, Jam & Jerusalem, Miranda, Veep, Zapped, Tourist Trap and Queenie. She also plays Shazza in the Bridget Jones movies.

The Australian actor will be well known to television audiences after his appearance in the reality show Love on the Spectrum Australia in 2019.

The show starts with Julian and Ingrid on a book tour in Australia and this is when they first encounter Austin.

Austin’s alternative bookstore The True Reader is actually the second-hand bookshop Book Lore in the suburb of Lyneham.

The manicured gardens and stunning 20s architecture of the heritage-listed Hyatt Hotel Canberra played the part of the “Canberra Hotel”.

Finally, the Australian Parliament House also made it into some of the scenes in the show.

How many episodes of Austin are there and when is it on?
