AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said its SWAT team responded to a call regarding a barricaded subject Wednesday morning in southeast Austin.

APD said officers responded near the area of 5300 Jimmy Clay Drive, and the scene remained active as of 8 a.m.

The department asked that people avoid the area and find alternate routes.

A briefing is expected to be held later in the day, according to APD.
