The National Weather Service‘s weekend forecast for the San Diego area calls for cooler temperatures with a deep marine layer and morning drizzle.
“A deep marine layer will continue through the weekend with coolerweather,” the agency said. “The marine layer will be thick enough to produce areas ofdrizzle each morning … with highs up to 10 degrees below average.”

Gusty winds are expected, ranging from 15 to 25 mph in the coast and valleys, to 50 mph in the mountains and deserts.
At the beaches, there will be elevated surf of 4-to-8 feet, with local sets up to 9 feetthrough Saturday afternoon. The weather service warned that this will create a high rip current risk and associated dangerous swimming conditions.
