The Padres announced their Opening Day roster, which involved a few notable moves. They added catcher Martín Maldonado and infielders Jose Iglesias and Yuli Gurriel, which was previously reported. They had one open 40-man spot after returning Rule 5 pick Juan Nunez to the Orioles. They opened two more spots today by designating infielders Eguy Rosario and Tyler Wade for assignment. Also, left-hander Omar Cruz has been recalled and will be making his major league debut as soon as he gets into a game.
