The victory moved Bannon to 2-1 inside the UFC Octagon while Tomar fell to 1-1.
A lifelong martial artist with a background in kickboxing and Taekwondo, Bannon entered the UFC with a perfect 5-0 record in 2023 after a successful stint in Invicta FC.
Upon signing with MMA’s premier promotion, she landed a sponsorship from fellow countryman Conor McGregor.
However, her debut against Bruna Brasil didn’t go to plan.
Bannon dropped a unanimous decision in a tentative display that left a lot to be desired.
The Dublin scrapper described it as her toughest fight to date and admitted she ‘couldn’t get going’.
But she was able to bounce back with a split decision win over Romania’s Alice Ardelean in her second outing.
