The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is around the corner and Mumbai Indians are mulling over the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah has been out of the action since January after he faced a back injury during the last game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
It was expected that Jasprit Bumrah would be fit for the IPL 2025 but that wasn't the case. There were a few reports that claimed that the pacer would miss the first few games of the league and would be back in action in the latter half of the league.
Mahela Jayawardene admitted that Jasprit Bumrah's absence in the first few games will be a big challenge for the team and added that they need to find an element early in the season. Speaking to reporters ahead of the start of IPL 2025, he said:
Not having him is a challenge, he is one of the best bowlers in the world. We will have to find ways and it is about opportunities for someone else. We need to find an element early in the season and see what works," said Jayawardene.
