Alfred Tibbey, 55, received a sentence of 98 years after being convicted in February of nine counts of committing forcible lewd acts on a child and one count of committing a lewd act on child, prosecutors said.
Tibbey began molesting the victim between 2020 and 2022. Prosecutors said the crime started when the child was 10. After making the death threats, Tibbey continued to sexually assault the child for eight more months.
The DA's office said that given Tibbey's age, will be eligible for elder parole once he serves at least 20 years of his sentence. In-custody credits already obtained by Tibbey mean his eligibility will come in around 17 years.
