The Stranger Things star paid homage to Paltrow in a post on Instagram on Friday, Feb. 28. The three-part post included two photos showing Brown wearing a dress that looked identical to the one Paltrow wore while attending the New York City premiere for Shakespeare in Love back in 1998. The sleeveless sheer dress was made of a silvery blue material that featured delicate beading woven from the high neck all the way down the floor-length skirt.
Paltrow, now 52, carried a dark-colored wrap with her when she walked the red carpet in the dress a little more than 26 years ago. Brown, 21, gave a nod to that aspect of the ensemble as well by draping a satiny navy blue wrap over her lower arms.

The comment drew a direct response from Brown, who tagged Paltrow’s official Instagram account again and wrote, “we both did!! so lucky to have worn it. Thank you ❤️.”
