YORK COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A suspect is in custody for allegedly shooting and killing a man early Monday morning, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.
Around 5:35 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, deputies were called to a Circle K in the 200 block of Carowinds Boulevard. Officials say a man was shot behind the gas station and between Circle K and Motel 6.

The man was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. Officials say they are looking for the shooter, but have a good idea who that person is.
The shooting happened near the state line, and YCSO says they are working with law enforcement partners in Charlotte.
Authorities say the suspect was taken into custody around 9:20 a.m. during a traffic stop on Old York Road.
