Sunday night’s 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live got started on the right note.
Stone-cold legend Paul Simon, a regular SNL musical guest and close friend of showrunner Lorne Michaels, opened the show with a duet of his Simon and Garfunkel song “Homeward Bound” with pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter.
The two exchanged some quick banter to introduce the show before going right into the iconic song. This was a very cool way to start the anniversary program, and the two artists matched well with each other.
Simon is such an important figure in SNL‘s history, so it was great to see him and Carpenter kick things off on Sunday in Studio 8H.
