Ahead of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced a massive injury scare. Australia Women's National Cricket Team all-rounder Ellyse Perry sustained a huge injury during the Ashes series against England Women's National Cricket Team.
However, in what was a positive development for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, she joined the team and is currently playing the ongoing first game against Gujarat Giants, which is taking place at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

Perry also expressed her excitement to play in front of the Chinnaswamy crowd. She admitted that she is not a bowling fit and won't be bowling in the first few games. Speaking to broadcasters, she said:
"We have such incredible support from the Banglore crowd. It will be great to be back at Chinnaswamy for the latter part of the tournament. (On her injury) I am fine, but may not bowl in the first few games."

But considering the kind of player she is, Perry will be important for her team with the bat as well. She would be keen to score runs in the first game and help her team win the opening match.
