February 13, 2025 (EL FASHER) – A government official in North Darfur state revealed on Thursday a new death toll for the attack on Zamzam camp, which has reached 112 dead and wounded in the past two days. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched a violent attack on the crowded camp on Tuesday and Wednesday, committing widespread violations against civilians, burning the main market and looting vehicles and property of displaced people before the army, the joint force and the popular resistance repelled the attacking force. The Director General of Health in North Darfur State, Ibrahim Khater, told “Sudan Tribune” that the total number of dead and injured reached 112, including 31 deaths and 81 injuries. He confirmed that the situation is now under control in the hospitals, while acknowledging the many challenges facing the health sector, including the urgent need for medicines and medical supplies in the state, in addition to the scarcity of food and shelter materials.
