WALMART has said that it needs to investigate after a customer slammed their local store for a lack of staff and not enough open scanners.
The supermarket giant was taken to task in an X post on January 28, which revealed that the problem is so bad that it will lead the customer to “rethink” where they shop.

“You closed the whole section of Scan & Go after 7:30, then close 1/2 of the registers in the other one you have open.
“All while having no express lane and 1 real cashier.
“I’m waiting in line with 3 items. I need to rethink where I shop.”
Walmart responded to the damning rant, commenting: “Let’s hear more about your experience.
“Would you mind sending a DM, so we can take a closer look at these issues?”
It is unclear what came of the exchange, but this is not the first time that Walmart’s payment policy has been hit with scrutiny on social media.
WALMART’S PAYMENT PROBLEMS
Another customer used X to highlight a payment issue that they faced whist shopping at their local Walmart branch, as reported by The US Sun.
Taking on X, the angry customer ranted about the chain’s checkout policies.
They further claimed to know why they were prevented from using a certain payment method at one type of checkout.
The shopper wrote: “Our Walmart stopped accepting CASH in the lines that have ACTUAL HUMAN WORKERS.
“They say if you’re using cash you need to use self-checkout!”
She added: “I told them I don’t work there, and then I found out it’s because none of the workers can count change back.”
Walmart did not respond to her complaint on social media and The U.S. Sun has reached out for comment.
In a separate incident, a Walmart shopper left the store furious after an employee had displayed disrespectful behavior over a receipt check.
The Walmart customer, frustrated by her shopping experience, shared details in an X post from late January.
She explained that she had spent nearly $600 at Walmart, assisted at self-checkout by several employees.
“When leaving the store, the man at the door waved several people on and of course stopped us and demanded a receipt,” she wrote.
The shopper didn’t have a physical receipt, as it had been sent to her phone digitally without her knowledge.
What is Walmart's Scan and Go?
Walmart's Scan and Go was made to save time for shoppers
Walmart’s Scan and Go system was created to help customers scan items as they shop, pay, and leave without waiting in long checkout lines.
The retailer describes the new system to be done in a few easy steps:
Customers first need to have the Walmart app downloaded on their phones with their location access enabled. On the Store Mode landing page, shoppers must click the Scan and Go option. Customers can scan each item and place them in their carts as they shop. At the end, they’ll be prompted to view the cart to make sure the quantity on the app matches the ones in their carts. Shoppers will press “Check Out” and head to a self-checkout kiosk. They’ll be prompted to scan the provided QR code at the register and confirm their payment method. Once the transaction is complete, shoppers can leave the store without worry. After at least 10 minutes of digging through their bags for the paper receipt, the shopper thought to check her phone and was able to pull up the digital proof of payment.
“Finally we find the receipt and show the guy. He then says he needs to check. No, I paid. I’ve been here long enough and I’m leaving,” wrote the frustrated customer.
She cited the employee’s insistence on a receipt check as “discriminatory,” blaming his behavior on racial bias.
“I think the biggest issue was his posture and attitude,” she wrote.
“Didn’t offer to try and help us retrieve a receipt.
“We had to find store associates to try and help. He just had it in his mind that we were stealing.”
