Ukiah Unified School District proudly announced the January Students of the Month at a special ceremony held at Ukiah High School on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Principals recognized 50 students from across the district’s 11 schools, highlighting their academic achievements and social-emotional growth with family members and the school community in attendance.
Superintendent Deb Kubin hosted the ceremony, introducing each school’s principal to present their selected students. Teachers nominate students based on academic dedication, leadership, and social-emotional skills, and principals shared thoughtful comments from nominating teachers about each student’s outstanding qualities.
“Our students are the heartbeat of our district, and their achievements remind us why we do this work,” said Superintendent Kubin. “Their perseverance and passion set the foundation for lifelong success, and we are honored to celebrate them. We also appreciate our families, educators, and community partners who support and uplift our students every step of the way.”
Each student received awards and special gifts from program sponsors in recognition of their achievements. The event was recorded and will be available for viewing on the Ukiah Unified YouTube channel.
