The National Games 2025 have begun in Uttarakhand, with many athletes participating in events scheduled for January 29th. Today, players will compete in 13 different sports. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) organises the National Games, giving athletes from all states a chance to show their skills. On January 29th, events will take place in Dehradun, Haldwani, Rudrapur, and Tanakpur.
Olympic-Style Events and Athletes
India’s National Games are similar to the Olympics and bring together athletes from various states and Union Territories to compete in multiple sports. This year, about 11,340 athletes will participate in events across 36 sports.
