Tustin Councilmember Lee Fink in December agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge, after shoving and swearing at a man during a home tour last year.
That incident, which occurred in May, was shared online in a video in the weeks leading up to the November election. Fink apologized then, and said it was an overreaction to seeing someone scolding his wife and daughter, calling his behavior “unfitting for anyone.”
Fink pleaded guilty on Dec. 23.
The footage showed a man telling Fink’s wife that their daughter broke some coral and asked that she not play with any more items.
Fink approached them and said his daughter didn’t touch or break anything. He then got closer to the man and began shouting before shoving him and swearing at him.
“My behavior during the video in question was unfitting for anyone, much less someone running for office,” Fink said in a statement this week.
“I can’t defend what happened; I can only try to do better,” he said.
Fink, an attorney, won election to the Tustin City Council in November to represent District 1.
