Ukiah Unified School District proudly announced the December Students of the Month at a special ceremony held at Ukiah High School on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Principals recognized 50 students from across the district’s 11 schools, highlighting their academic achievements and social-emotional growth with family members and the school community in attendance.
Superintendent Deb Kubin hosted the ceremony, introducing each school’s principal to present their selected students. Teachers nominate students based on academic dedication, leadership, and social-emotional skills, and principals shared thoughtful comments from nominating teachers about each student’s outstanding qualities.
“This event celebrates the heart of our district – our students. Their hard work, resilience, and dedication inspire all of us to continue creating opportunities for them to thrive,” said Superintendent Kubin. “We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, families, and educators who make these celebrations possible and help build a community that values excellence and growth.”
Each student received awards and special gifts from program sponsors in recognition of their achievements. The event was recorded and will be available for viewing on the Ukiah Unified YouTube channel.
