(KRON) – A man has died and a woman was hospitalized after a car crashed into a tree on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At 4:12 a.m., CHP officers and fire personnel responded to a crash on Highway 101 north of Dry Creek Road in Santa Rosa. CHP dispatch was informed that a vehicle was speeding excessively before the crash.
Responding officials saw an ablaze Infiniti sedan off the roadway.

According to the preliminary investigation, the Infiniti was speeding on Highway 101 when the driver lost control and slid off the roadway hitting a tree. The impact caused the sedan to go up in flames.
