Greeley police to host town meeting about the Real-Time Information Center ...Saudi Arabia

Sport by : (GreeleyTribune) -

The Greeley Police Department will provide an update on the Real-Time Information Center later this month at the Greeley City Council chambers.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 in the council chambers at City Center North, 1100 10th St.

The Real-Time Information Center began operations out of Fire Station 6 in October, giving police the ability to quickly switch between cameras at stoplights, businesses and other places to track subjects and review incidents. It comes with a $700,000 annual cost for the city, with an initial cost of $1.5 million.

This technology will not use facial recognition and will block out private property so that residents’ privacy is not compromised, according to police.

The department encourages residents to attend the meeting with questions and to take the opportunity to discuss this new leap in technology with city leaders.

Those who wish to attend need to RSVP at bit.ly/3DDcjPc.
