Eastbound Interstate 70 is closed outside of Georgetown for a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon, according to the Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office.

As of 1 p.m., at least two ambulances and three other emergency vehicles were at the scene of the crash, according to Colorado Department of Transportation cameras. CDOT cameras also showed traffic backed up for more than half a mile down the eastbound highway to Silver Plume and Woodward.
Sheriff’s officials said multiple people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, but the number of cars and people involved, the cause of the crash and when the highway is expected to reopen was not available.
