A fire damaged a house in Serra Mesa on Thursday, leaving three people injured, authorities said.
Crews responded to a call Thursday at 2:58 a.m. in the 2700 block of Melbourne Dr., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

“Four adults and three pets were displaced. Three people were transported to UCSD for treatment of unspecified injuries,” fire officials said.
Five fire engines and 37 crew members responded to the fire, the department said.
