On the Dec. 16 episode of the broadcast, Goldberg started discussing the "U.F.O. kinda things" before they showed clips of news shows attempting to find out who or what was behind the objects in the sky.
Politicians on news programs didn't appear to know much about the situation, leading the talk show hosts to consider whether or not the government has shared all known information.
"I don't know if they will!" she said, before referencing the secrecy around Area 51. Other The View hosts agreed that they thought the government might be withholding information, but Sara Haines felt like it was a good thing.
Alyssa Farah Griffin added, "It's very likely that there is a plausible explanation," but she noted that the lack of answers for the public makes the whole situation "a little eerie-looking."

"They could fit right in," countered Goldberg.
"Or we’re going to get a really hell of a big party for New Year’s Eve," Goldberg quipped. "Well, why not? I mean, stranger things have happened."
The two organizations noted that they were working with state police to further investigate the sightings, but so far, "upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft, operating lawfully."
