Suspected robber jumped in Oakland lake to evade police: OPD ...Middle East

(KRON) – A suspected robber jumped in Lake Merritt to evade officers, according to the Oakland Police Department.  Around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Oakland PD was dispatched to the 600 block of Bellevue Avenue for the report of a robbery with a deadly weapon. Responding officers learned that a victim was threatened by a suspect who brandished a bladed object at them.  Police said the suspect then fled on foot. Oakland police officers later found the suspect in Lake Merritt.
