November 14, 2024 (NEW YORK) – The Security Council on Thursday extended the mandate of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) until 15 November 2025. 14 nations voted in favor of Resolution 2760 (2024) with Russia abstaining. The Council also extended UNISFA’s originally authorized tasks until mid-November next year.
