Associated Press ST. LOUIS (AP) — Flash flooding in Missouri has claimed five lives, including two poll workers who died when their vehicles were swept away in the southern part of the state. Heavy rain fell over two days in parts of Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that vehicles driven by a 70-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman were swept away by flooding Beaver Creek in Wright County early Tuesday. The county clerk confirmed both of the people who died were poll workers. People in another car swept away were able to swim to safety. Two other people died Tuesday in St. Louis County.
