DENVER (KDVR) — A Douglas County deputy was hit by a woman who was allegedly driving while under the influence on Saturday night. On Monday, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office posted to X about a crash that "hits way too close to home." According to the sheriff's office, a deputy was investigating a separate crash on Kendrick Castillo Way, formally known as Lucent Boulevard, just south of C-470 in Highlands Ranch. The deputy was sitting inside his car when the driver hit the patrol vehicle and drove away. Thankfully, the deputy was not injured.
