(KRON) -- A severe traffic alert is snarling traffic on southbound Highway 85 near Cupertino after a small aircraft landed on the roadway Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. Multiple lanes are blocked north of the De Anza Boulevard exit. The single-engine plane landed on Highway 85 shortly after 7 a.m., CHP said. No vehicles on the roadway were involved in the emergency landing. Two right lanes are closed as of 7:26 a.m. Crews are on the scene working to remove the plane.
