West Point, CA — Air and ground resources are working on a vegetation fire along Highway 26 in the West Point area of Calaveras County. CAL Fire has dubbed it the Spur Fire burning near the Railroad Flat Road intersection. They report that when the first engine arrived on the scene, it was a 50′ x 50′ spot fire, with the flames burning at a slow rate of spread. There is no word as to whether any structures are threatened. Four aircraft, including one helicopter and three planes, are flying overhead.
