Falls library shows Sinchak paintings The Newton Falls Public Library is showcasing a collection of paintings by Edward P. Sinchak, who was a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio and served as an educator in the Newton Falls School District for 33 years. After retiring in 1991, Sinchak created more than 100 paintings of Newton Falls and its history, with many highlighting its covered bridges. Before his death, he was in the process of compiling a book of pen and ink drawings that portrayed the Newton Falls area prior to the devastation caused by the tornado on May 31, 1985. After his death, the collection was entrusted to Tom Coloimo, who loaned it for display at the library, 204 S. Canal St
