Patna: Police in Bihar have arrested a man for handing his wife to a group of gamblers after he lost her in a bet at his village. The bizarre incident took place last month but came to light when the victim registered a case with the police on Sunday night. The incident took place in Bhagalpur district, more than 230 km east of Patna. Police said the accused Saroj Kumar who was a habitual gambler was playing gamble with his friends during Diwali when he lost everything to his friends. Eventually, he placed his wife on the bet and he lost her too. Soon after losing his wife, he handed over his wife to the gamblers who allegedly sexually exploited her.
