Natasha Hamilton, the lead vocalist of the iconic 90s pop group Atomic Kitten, has announced her departure from the band after an impressive 26-year tenure. This decision follows her solo performance at the 90s Baby Festival in Newcastle, where she was initially slated to perform with fellow member Liz McLarnon. However, due to McLarnon's illness, Hamilton took to the stage alone, which prompted a period of introspection regarding her career trajectory .

Natasha Hamilton, the main vocalist in chart-topping 00s pop group Atomic Kitten, has quit the band, 23 years after their biggest hit Whole Again made number 1 and months after her solo performance shocked fans in Newcastle.

Liz McLarnon and Kerry Katona, exploded onto the music scene, as Atomic Kitten made the top 10 with their debut single Right Now, before follow up See Ya made the top 10 and third single I Want Your Love narrowly missed out.

Addressing fans on Instagram, Kerry said: "I heard Atomic Kitten are down a girl.

"I might audition. Do you think they might let me back in?

"Even with just one member left, I still don't think they will let me back in."

Continuing to poke fun further, and referencing the group's most famous song, she said: "The main thing is, I'm whole again."

Duncan James, known for being in the boy band Blue, offered a message of support as he wrote, “I know this has not been an easy decision but I love you and always support you for your decisions. I’m sure I will see you on the road soon. Big love”.

In an emotional Instagram post, Hamilton articulated her struggles in balancing her solo aspirations with the demands of being part of Atomic Kitten. She expressed that it was time to "close the book" on this chapter of her life . The significance of this announcement resonates not only within the context of pop music history but also highlights broader themes concerning artist autonomy and career evolution in an industry often dominated by group dynamics.
