Anne Hathaway publicly apologized to journalist Kjersti Flaa for her perceived dismissive behavior during a 2012 interview. The apology was prompted by Flaa's decision to share clips of the interview on TikTok, where it garnered significant attention and criticism . In the original interview, Hathaway responded to some questions with short and seemingly uninterested answers, including a notable refusal to answer in song as requested by Flaa. This interaction was characterized by many viewers as uncomfortable and indicative of Hathaway's rudeness.
The original footage had shown Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa interviewing Hathaway at a filmed press junket to promote Les Misérables in 2012, with the actor giving blunt responses to Flaa’s questions.
 Hugh Jackman were more enthusiastic.
The video then jumps to Flaa asking Hathaway if she believed “people would sacrifice more for love back then than they do today”, to which Hathaway blankly stared at her, shook her head and said “No”.
In the last question, Flaa stayed on the topic of love, asking the actor if she remembered her first crush, to which she boringly replied: “No.”
Hathaway for her lacklustre behaviour. Others also noted how they were shocked by her attitude.
“Her answers aren’t rude it’s her tone and expression,” one person wrote.
The journalist said Hathaway sent her “a long email explaining to me what she was going through when she did this interview and she apologized for essentially giving me a terrible interview.” she said.
The journalist had posted a clip of a 2016 interview with Lively, which seemed to get off to a bad start when Flaa congratulated the actor on her pregnancy and “little bump”.
Lively sarcastically responded: “Congrats on your little bump.”
Prior to the interview, which presumably would have taken place around the film’s release date in July, the actor, who was then 28, had announced that she was pregnant with her second baby with her husband Ryan Reynolds in May.
