CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in south Charlotte. Officers were called to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 8900 block of E. Arrowood Road. Preliminary information indicated that officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a possible suspect vehicle when 'an exchange of gunfire occurred'. CMPD confirms that one officer and a suspect were struck by gunfire. Both were transported to the hospital for their injuries. CMPD would not say how serious the injuries are.
