(KRON) -- A person was attacked by dogs and mauled to death in Oakland, police told KRON4. Oakland Police Department officers were alerted about a "canine attack" on 36th Avenue at noon on September 1, an OPD spokesperson said. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering from several dog bites, police said. The victim never made it to a hospital, and was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene. The victim was a 53-year-old man, East Bay Times reported. The vicious dogs' owner, identified by prosecutors as Brendan Thomas Burke, appeared in court on Thursday. The Alameda County District Attorney's Office spokesperson said Bruke is charged with felony
