AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — Aurora City Council gave official approval Monday night for the police department's new chief. Todd Chamberlain is now set to be sworn in on Sept. 9. The council vote was 8-2. Chamberlain will become the first permanent Aurora police chief since Vanessa Wilson was fired from the position in April 2022. The department has since had multiple interim chiefs — current interim Police Chief Heather Morris became the third. Todd Chamberlain was named the chief of the Aurora Police Department on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024.
