CARPINTERIA, Calif.-The city of Carpinteria will receive an update on the Carpinteria Ave. Bridge Project today. Kirsten Ayers of Ayers and Associates is providing the update. The city is being asked to open the bidding process to clear the area around the old bridge. The bridge is almost 100 years old and has been impacted by storms. Ayers said the 2 year project will require utilities to be moved during the work. She said the bridge will be open one way during constrution.
