MASON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) -- The Mason Volunteer Fire Department along with other fire departments across the Hill County are working to put out a wildfire in Mason County Friday morning. The wildfire is located seven miles east of Mason near the intersection of North Art Road and Highway 29. The Texas A&M Forest Service said the "North Art Complex" fire has burned over 1,500 acres, and has been 0% contained. The Mason County Sheriff's Office Dispatch said the initial 9-1-1 caller told dispatch that the cause of the fire was from a lightning strike. However, an official cause has not been determined. Authorities said no one has been told to evacuate their home at this time.
