A Ukiah man was arrested this week while reportedly watching a fire he allegedly started, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the MCSO, a sergeant responded to the 2000 block of the McClure Subdivision Road around 11 p.m. Aug. 20 after overhearing fire personnel responding to “the area of McClure Subdivision Road in Ukiah for a reported vegetation fire in the area.” When the sergeant arrived, “the fire was an estimated 10-by-20 feet in size, and was burning in grass and vegetation along the roadway.
